To Let, Halifax

My first drawings of Halifax date back to my school days in the 1950’s and continued during my visits home from overseas. This painting is from a series I made thirty years ago. Although the town was then on the verge of a new lease of life, “To Let” and “For Sale” signs could be seen on many buildings that are now sought after. Sometimes those signs give me the excuse for adding a splash of colour.
