Rochdale Canal

The canals of England stretch green fingers into the heart of towns, and the Rochdale Canal is no exception. After leaving the Yorkshire mill town of Sowerby Bridge into enters a stretch of peaceful countryside depicted in this painting. Canals have always been a passion of mine. I have walked their towpaths, sailed their waters, sketched them and restored them.
